What is S4K Cricket?
S4K Cricket incorporates world class structures; taking its inspiration from the world’s greatest modern-day players, as well as the combination of 5 Day Test Matches, One Day Internationals, T20 cricket which includes Big Bash, IPL and even The 100. We develop our children’s mini and micro motor skills, using the Montessori teaching method and the best practices from child psychology and children’s learning. Each class has a dedicated curriculum and Practice@Home book so that you can help your child to develop their skill level outside of the class.
We cater for children from 18 months at S4K Cricket. Click on the links below to read more about your child’s age group…
Toddler Cricket looks at the fundamentals of the game introducing umpiring, respect, batting, bowling and fielding. We begin building mini motor skills here and the basic movements that allow children to develop world-class skills. Using stories, children’s characters and entertainment, S4K Toddlers is an imaginative hub of learning! More info…
We advance our children’s skills here, learning more complex movements. Crickets continue to develop the core elements, such as batting, here we bring in back foot shots and front foot shots, fielding techniques continue to challenge and improve the child’s skills. Bowling will be developed through our unique rhymes, and children will be able to bowl over arm even at this age.
Grasshoppers will develop more technical movements but still combining the core areas in cricket including batting, fielding, bowling – this is then further broken down into front foot shots, back foot shots, defensive and attacking shots. Bowling will then look at types of where to pitch the ball, and the run up to bowling.
Stormers is where is gets real, previously all the shots have been learnt, now is the time to really nail down those shots and knowing when to hit them, from hitting a forward defensive shot to a well-pitched ball, to hitting a pull shot when a short ball is sent down by the bowler. More info…
Frequently Asked Questions
Naturally you will have questions about registering your child for a new activity. Here are some of our most common FAQs, but you can also access the full set by clicking here.
Of course! We believe that it is vitally important that you are able to see whether the Sport4Kids activities are for you and your child. The trial session is designed to allow you to see what Sport4Kids activities have to offer. However, we do emphasise that a child may need more than one session in order to make the most of their time with us and only expect around 30% participation for the first lesson. Most children will not have participated in instructor led activities prior to their visit and this can take time to get used to. After your initial trial session, our experienced coaching team will be able answer any questions that you may have and offer advice on your child’s experience. Click here to select your nearest venue and book your free session.
Our classes cost £36.850 per month. This payment plan allows parents to be in control of their payments and know exactly when they have paid up until. There is a £30 membership fee when joining Sport4Kids, which will include full cricket kit and Practice@Home book.
All of our venues have indoor facilities and most also have outdoor facilities. During the Autumn, Winter and early Spring months, classes are held indoors, but when the opportunity arises in the Summer, we endeavour to take the S4K classes outside.
Sport4Kids coaches are truly special. It takes 4 months and 24 examinations to move past the trainee level of coach. Coaches graduate through our Coaching Development Pathway, which involves technical coaching, child behaviour management, child psychology and safeguarding. All coaches are DBS checked and extremely passionate about what they do too!
Our classes do not stop for half-term or the summer holidays so we are always on hand to entertain your children. As a rule, it is generally safe to assume that we are operating. We will of course communicate with you if there are any planned or last minute changes.
