What is S4K Rugby?
Our S4K Rugby program is based on the precision ball handling techniques of the Australian Rugby League and New Zealand Rugby Union sides. We develop our children’s mini and micro motor skills, using the Montessori teaching method and the best practices from child psychology and children’s learning. Each class has a dedicated curriculum and Practice@Home book so that you can help your child to develop their skill level outside of the class.
We cater for children from 18 months at S4K Rugby. Click on the links below to read more about your child’s age group…
We begin building mini motor skills here and the basic movements that allow children to develop world-class skills. Aboard a pirate ship, travelling through space or chasing dinosaurs, S4K Tots is an imaginative hub of learning rugby skills and ball handling! More info…
We advance our children’s skills here, learning basket catches, weaving with the ball and kicking conversions while on a superhero or wizarding adventure. Cubs are noisy, energetic and score a lots of tries – from tunnels to crashmats! More info…
Skills are taught under graded levels of pressure, allowing children to learn at their own pace. Precision and ball handling are still top of the agenda and kids participate in small sided games, the S4K Tournament and the S4K Rugby Club, playing in local leagues. More info…
Frequently Asked Questions
Naturally you will have questions about registering your child for a new activity. Here are some of our most common FAQs, but you can also access the full set by clicking here.
Of course! We believe that it is vitally important that you are able to see whether the Sport4Kids activities are for you and your child. The trial session is designed to allow you to see what Sport4Kids activities have to offer. However, we do emphasise that a child may need more than one session in order to make the most of their time with us and only expect around 30% participation for the first lesson. Most children will not have participated in instructor led activities prior to their visit and this can take time to get used to. After your initial trial session, our experienced coaching team will be able answer any questions that you may have and offer advice on your child’s experience. Click here to select your nearest venue and book your free session.
Our classes cost £7.80 each, which is paid by a no minimum recurring payment of £36.85 every month. This payment plan allows parents to be in control of their payments and know exactly when they have paid up until. There is a £30 membership fee when joining Sport4Kids, which will include full rugby kit and Practice@Home book.
All of our venues have indoor facilities and most also have outdoor facilities. Our S4K Lions and above may play outside at certain venues, but this will be detailed on each specific venue webpage. During the Autumn, Winter and early Spring months, classes are held indoors, but when the opportunity arises in the Summer, we endevour to take the S4K classes outside.
Sport4Kids coaches are truly special. It takes 4 months and 24 examinations to move past the trainee level of coach. Coaches graduate through our Coaching Development Pathway, which involves technical coaching, child behaviour management, child psychology and safeguarding. All coaches are DBS checked and extremely passionate about what they do too!
Our classes do not stop for half-term or the summer holidays so we are always on hand to entertain your children. As a rule, it is generally safe to assume that we are operating. We will of course communicate with you if there are any planned or last minute changes.
