KIDS FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT
Our S4K Football Tournament truly is a special fun event, bringing together our S4K Strikers and S4K Academy members from across all of our venues to compete in an exciting and energetic afternoon of football.
Our kids get their first taste of competitive football through small sided games and no goalies to score extra goals. It is great fun for all the family with mum, dad, brothers, sisters, gran and granddad all cheering from the side-lines! We also have to remind gran that she is not allowed to play!
At the S4K Tournament we use low pressure, no tackling rules for our S4K Strikers to encourage spatial awareness and vision as well as the passing football that they have grown to love since the beginning of S4K. This really helps them enjoy and build their teamwork, giving the less confident more time on the ball.
Our S4K Academy play under slightly more levels of pressure, with time limits on their possession of the ball to three seconds as well as a minimum number of passes before being able to score a goal.
Our S4K Football Tournament is an all-inclusive affair, with all children guaranteed to walk away grinning from ear to ear and showing off their shiny medal to neighbours and school friends for weeks to come.

Age Groups
We cater for children from 18 months at S4K Football. Click on the links below to read more about your child’s age group…
Absolutely. Yes we have teams coming from all of our centres in each S4K territory. Local tournaments involve teams from venues in the immediate area, while national stretch further afield.
Absolutely. We encourage our parents to try the children in our S4K Strikers group at the tournament from an early age. We include the “foot on top” of the ball rule during the games and all of the games feature “live” coaching from our refereeing coaching team.
This is very unlikely. At S4K Strikers level, our coaches will actively play in a team that is losing a game 2-0. As a rule, we do not allow children at this age to lose by more than a two goal margin and our coaches will always try to help teams score that memorable goal and find that confidence boost (all without directly influencing the result of the match).
We receive tournament entries on an individual basis and aim to partner children with players from their own development centres. As we play small sided games, sometimes we may join to two centres together due to numbers.
The S4K Tournament is entered on an individual registration basis. This means that we have to cap the number of players so that the number attending is divisible by the number of teams in the tournament format. For example, if we are playing 4 a side and the tournament format allows space for 8 teams, then we can only accept 32 children in total. Accepting a higher number affects the format of the tournament.
