SPL – Setup & How to Start

• Create alliterative team names such as ‘Wave Wallabies’ or ‘Binfield Bears’
• Identify players from your strikers class to play in the games. You can do this by looking at the app and selecting those who have completed 75% of their progression pathway.
• Find a schedule of games that works for you, all games are played after the usual Strikers class (schedule ahead every game in the season). Use the S4K Leagues Website to view pre existing league formats
  • • You will need to book an extra 30 mins onto the end of your usual Strikers session at the home venue, to allow for time to play the game.
• Contact Sam (samuel.franklin@sport4kids.biz), to set up your league page on the S4K Leagues website. This is where you can house all upcoming fixtures for parents to see and use.
• Collect parents numbers and add them to a WhatsApp group for each team. 
• The first text in your WhatsApp chats should be introducing your parents to the SPL, and what it is. Educating the parents into the reasons we run SPL leagues is key, it’s all about the child’s long term football development. • Send text out 2 weeks prior to game day with details (date, time, location, teams involved, link to website)
• Keep tabs on who has said yes/no. You need 5 players per team to be able to play, however it can still work with 3 / 4
