Kids Multi-Activity Holiday Camp: Arrival
An S4K Activity Camp provides the most exciting and exhilarating, non-stop sports entertainment experience for our families. The structure of the day at camp is consistent every day to provide a familiar experience for children but the activities vary to suit children of all ages, abilities and interests.
Children are welcomed by our experienced Sports Entertainers and introduced to a wide choice of activities as soon as they enter the action zone. Some of our venues offer inflatables, ball sports, giant floor games, board games, book corner, colouring station, music and Lego. The space really does have something for everyone and this time allows the children to choose activities at their own pace to ease and relax them into a new environment, especially if they are nervous or new.
On arrival children will be told what colour team they will be on for that day. Our daily “Team Points” competition rewards children for their participation in activities and for improving their skills or knowledge.
Every Child Is Catered For At S4K Camp
Once everyone has arrived, each morning we deliver a safety briefing to provide children with an overview of the day, specific rules and expectations around behaviour, activities and health and safety. During this time we also pick monitors and helpers to help children gain points and build leadership skills and team work. Children are then split into age groups depending on the volume and ages of children that are in attendance. Splitting children into groups allows children to play safely with children of a similar age and challenges them at the correct level.
Everyday we offer children a selection of different warm up games before we begin our main activities. These might include tag games, fitness stations, relays, musical and drama games, aerobics and yoga or number and colour games. All of our warm up games help children to prepare their bodies physically and mentally.
S4K Camp Activities
We have 4 main activities in a camp day, 2 taking place in the morning and 2 in the afternoon, which can include the following:
- Ball games such as football, tag rugby and dodgeball
- Striking and fielding games such as hockey, cricket, rounders and tennis.
- Target & Themed games such as NERF Games, Water Games, bowels and orienteering.
- Individual and Team games such as Athletics, Dance, Arts & Crafts, Outdoor learning and kids choice games.
We encourage maximum participation at our S4K activity camps, however we do understand that children have different interests, abilities and needs. We therefore have different ways in which children can get involved such as score keeping and coaching and have some activity slots where children get to choose their own activities.
There are 4 score reveals throughout a day at camp- after activity 1, 2, 3 and 4. The score reveals not only reveal the team scores but individual successes through announcing a King and Queen and a SPEED Star who has shown brilliant sportsmanship and efforts even though they may not have won the most points. The score reveals are a celebration and are some of the loudest and entertaining parts of the day as children chant and cheer in excitement of each digit being revealed on the score board.
End of S4K Camp Day
Party activities take place after the final scores. This is the time that children begin to get picked up and these activities will help the children leave with a big smile on their faces and hopefully want them coming back for more! These activities might be games such as balloon games, scooter games, musical games and parachute games.
Like the early club, the late club (the last hour of the day) allows children to choose their own activity and gives them a chance to wind down before they are picked up.
Every child will leave a day at an S4K Camp with positive feedback, a smile and a certificate on their final day.
We cover more questions about our camp on our frequently asked questions page too.
