Attending a school, college or university recruitment fair is a great way to recruit part time and full members to your team. Job fairs take place across the academic year and you will need to engage with the Careers Service at the setting to find out more details.
Once you are booked in for the event, you will need to assemble a list of branding and materials to get the most out of your experience.
- Set up the stall and stand in front (do not sit behind).
- Approach potential applicants by throwing them the rugby or football (carefully!)
- Engage in conversation and provide them with info on:
- Part time / seasonal roles
- Full time roles – including L2, L3 and L4 Apprenticeships
- Demonstrate and explain the S4K App
- Ask them to write their details down. Make a note of any parts of conversation that need to be remembered (e.g. they are in first year of study and want to work part time for now but could be a full time applicant from September 2023).
- Asterix the individuals who you are impressed with and want to follow up.
- Follow up individuals who are of interest on the SAME DAY as the fair. This will heighten your chances of successfully recruiting them.
- Where possible individuals could be booked in for trial shift at the fair.
