1. Sign in to Your Google Account:
If you don’t already have one, create a Google account. If you do, sign in to the account you want to use for your business listing.

Once you’re signed in, go to the Google My Business website by visiting https://www.google.com/business/.
3. Add Your Business:
Click the “Manage Now” or “Add your business to Google” button. If you’re already managing a business on Google, click on the “Add a location” button instead.
4. Enter Your Business Information:
You’ll be prompted to enter your business information. Fill out all the required fields, including:
- Business name – Sport4Kids [NP Area name, Venue Name]
- Business category [Children’s entertainment]
- Address
- Phone number
- Website URL (if applicable) [I’d always direct this to the relevant landing page as opposed to the homepage]
- Hours of operation
5. Verify Your Business:
After providing the basic information, Google will ask you to verify your business. You can choose from several verification methods, including receiving a postcard at your business address, receiving a phone call, or email verification. Follow the steps to complete the verification process.
6. Optimizs Your Business Profile:
Once your business is verified, you can optimise your profile by adding:
- Photos of your business, products, and services
- A detailed business description – see below for our example;
- Additional phone numbers and websites
- Attributes that describe your business
7. Create Posts and Updates:
Google My Business allows you to create posts and updates about your business. You can share news, promotions, events, and other relevant content to engage with potential customers.
8. Monitor and Respond to Customer Reviews:
Regularly check and respond to customer reviews. Address both positive and negative feedback to show your commitment to customer satisfaction.
9. Add Services and Products:
If your business offers specific services or products, you can add them to your listing. Include details, prices, and images to make your offerings more appealing.
10. Keep Information Up to Date:
It’s essential to keep your business information up to date. Update your business hours, address, and any other pertinent details as they change.
11. Use Insights and Analytics:
Google My Business provides insights and analytics on how users interact with your listing. Pay attention to these metrics to understand your audience and make improvements.
12. Manage Multiple Locations:
If you have multiple locations, you can manage them all from your Google My Business dashboard by using the “Locations” feature.
13. Utilise the Google My Business App:
Consider downloading the Google My Business app for mobile devices. This app allows you to manage your listing on the go, respond to reviews, and receive notifications.
14. Promote Your Listing:
You can use Google Ads to promote your Google My Business listing, increasing its visibility and reach.
