We are delighted and excited to announce S4K Portishead is launching new Saturday Kids Football Skills Classes, opening on 27th April!
Running from the Portishead Youth Centre and Parish Wharf Leisure Centre in the thriving hub of Portishead, North Somerset, every Saturday morning, classes will be offered for toddlers and children from the age of 18 months to 7 years to begin with at the following times…
S4K Tots (18m to 3 years) – 9:30 – 10:15am @ Portishead Youth Centre
S4K Kickers (3 to 5 years) – 10:40 – 11:25am @ Parish Wharf Leisure Centre
S4K Strikers (5 to 7 years) – 11.30 – 12:30pm @ Parish Wharf Leisure Centre
Our S4K Football classes are truly special. Encompassing our approach – the S4K Way – we teach toddlers and kids mini motor skills using the Montessori learning technique. We use these mini motor skills to build children’s confidence into world class skills. Our kids football classes are based around the Dutch Coerver method, Spanish Tiki-Taka and Brazilian Futsal. We wrap all of these techniques in entertainment and analogous learning for the children to enjoy. There really is nothing like it!

S4K’s nationally accredited “Best Practice” Football skills classes for toddlers, children and kids will be accessible through the neighbouring Portishead Marina venues every Saturday. This follows a very successful launch of Sunday Football and Rugby skills classes at Gordano Sports Centre in February, which has received fantastic parent and child feedback after just 11 weeks!
This will mean over 100 kids will have the opportunity to engage and develop through the revolutionary children’s sports programmes in the local town of S4K Bristol & North Somerset network partners: Vijay, Sarah, and their two month old baby Dylan.
Vijay commented:
“We are absolutely thrilled by the uptake in Portishead since launching a couple of months ago. Many children are already showing superb progress through attending weekly sessions and following the research-driven practice@home structure. A credit to the coaches, parents and children involved in implementing the proven “S4K Way”. The ‘triangle of trust’ is forming well!
The feedback from parents and coaches has been fantastic. This validates the S4K product, service, training and full business system really does work, and gives us confidence we can step it up to the next level by opening our Portishead Saturday Football classes.
We’ve recently been audited and awarded Platinum grading (90%) at the close of our launch support programme which gives us confidence we can accelerate growth. We are fully focused on maintaining this level of service as we grow, so we will continue to invest in recruitment, training and development to get better and better. The Coach Development Pathway is the vehicle, as we upskill existing and bring through new talented, driven, and engaging coach entertainers.
Portishead is a child-focused town with many activities, events and community groups for toddlers, young children and parents. There’s a strong passion for providing better opportunities for future generations. We strive to play our role through offering S4K’s unique blend of children’s sports entertainment and development, through a beyond world class service. We’re delighted two landmark local venues at the Marina, Portishead Youth Centre and Parish Wharf Leisure Centre, are supporting us in our mission to engage, develop and entertain as many children with sport.
With more Portishead toddlers and children having access to S4K’s revolutionary child-centric sports development programmes the outcomes will be simple. Building their passion for sport and activeness through structured learning will lead to better skills development (motor, cognitive, social and physical), for better futures, and maximising smiles along the way! And we’ll be signing Dylan up to S4K when he’s old enough!”
