What is The Purpose of The SPL?
At S4K, we have weekend centres with hundreds of Strikers keen to play in practice matches and now is the time to make this happen in a regular inter-venue format. Many of you may have already played an inter-venue match against another centre before, the SPL is going to take this to another level.
The league is designed to offer practice matches for our Strikers players, using S4K tournament and non competitive rules, whilst in an all-inclusive fun and safe environment. This environment is conducive to our renowned S4K coaching techniques, with regular coaching tips and mantras provided to the players throughout the match, to aid their football development and knowledge, and get them ready for truly competitive games as they get older.
Who Can Play?
Every S4K member has their own Progression Pathway on the S4K App which is how your coaches track each players development. Information on the app and how to download it can be found at; https://sport4kids.biz/s4k-member-app/
After each session the coaches will go through everyones Progression Pathway to tick what has been completed. Once you reach 75% of the Pathway, this indicates to our coaches that you’re a Rising Star and makes you eligible to play in the SPL.
How Does it Work?
We have a selection of venues who will play each other once a month, your coaches will inform you of the dates of the matches, and wether you’re playing Home or Away. Some of our venues operate on different days of the weekend therefore some matches will be played on a different day to your own session, but don’t worry you won’t miss out! If the match is being played away on a different day you are still able to attend their whole Strikers Session, play the inter-venue match after and attend your own session as well (Win, Win, Win).
Each match will last 20 minutes with a rotation of players every 5 minutes (to give our players much needed experience playing in different positions). There will still be coach involvement to help with S4K mantras, positioning, correct technique and understanding throughout.
The Outcome
Players competing in the SPL will also be pointed towards our Regional Squad who compete against other Regional teams and professional academies such as Aldershot, Woking, Watford, and Peterborough. The league will repeat each year as Strikers progress up to Academies and into the Football Club.
